One Task Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
One Task is a personal productivity app that blocks user-selected apps, websites, or categories during a named assignment. Blocking can continue until the user marks the assignment done, a timed Study Block ends, or the user deliberately ends blocking early.

No Account Required
One Task does not require an account, login, profile, or social connection.
Information Stored On Your Device
To provide its core features, One Task stores app state locally on your device and in its Apple App Group container. This may include:
- task text that you enter
- opaque Screen Time selection tokens supplied by Apple's Family Activity Picker
- blocking authorization and session state
- session start and end times
- whether you marked a task done or ended blocking early
- saved app, website, or category selections used in Study Modes
- local subscription access state supplied by StoreKit
Screen Time Access
One Task uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, Managed Settings UI, and Device Activity frameworks to request authorization, receive private selection tokens, and apply blocking to the apps, websites, or categories you select.
One Task cannot use those tokens to read messages, feeds, pages, photos, files, passwords, typed work, or activity inside selected apps or websites. Apple controls the authorization prompt and private selection interface.
Data Collection And Sharing
The current App Store version does not send your task text, Screen Time selection tokens, saved selections, session history, or completion state to a One Task server.
One Task does not sell personal data. It does not include ads, advertising tracking, ad attribution SDKs, account registration, cloud sync, public profiles, social features, or user-generated content.
Analytics And Diagnostics
The current App Store version does not include an external analytics SDK or a developer-operated crash reporting SDK.
Apple may provide the developer with App Store, TestFlight, purchase, subscription, and diagnostic information through Apple systems according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies.
Subscriptions And Purchases
Purchases, free trials, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple through StoreKit and your App Store account.
One Task reads StoreKit entitlement state to determine whether Pro features are available. One Task does not collect payment card details.
Retention And Deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you replace or clear it through the app, delete the app, or iOS removes the app and its data.
Deleting One Task removes its locally stored app state from that device. Apple may retain purchase and subscription records according to Apple's policies.
Product Limitations
One Task does not prove that a task is complete. Completion is user-declared. Screen Time authorization can be denied or revoked, and website coverage can vary by browser and device state.
One Task is a personal productivity tool. It is not parental surveillance, medical care, therapy, diagnosis, treatment, addiction support, or emergency support.
Changes
This policy may be updated as One Task changes. The latest version is available at https://kylestephens.net/one-task/privacy/.
